Alaska Young Fishermen’s Summit, Anchorage, AK
Hilton Hotel, December 7-9, 2009
The Alaska Sea Grant Marine Advisory Program is proud to host the 2009 Alaska Young Fishermen’s Summit. This third event in our series of conferences will again provide training and networking opportunities for new fishermen entering the business, or more seasoned fishermen wishing to take a leadership role in their industry.
The main focus of the conference is to build leadership and networking capacity through a 2-day summit addressing three main topics: business management, the fisheries management process, and understanding the role of Alaskan seafoods in the world marketplace.
Past Summits have featured a wide variety of influential members of the fishing industry as speakers and we expect many will return.
As with past Summits, we hope many of our attendees will be sponsored by regional fishing associations, CDQ groups, or vessel skippers, and will represent ports from all over the state and in all commercial fisheries.
