Surveyor Assistant Apprentice Program
The Alaska Teamsters Local 959 Technical Engineer Joint Apprenticeship and Training committee will accept apprenticeship applications from March 14, 2007 through March 28, 2007. Applications will only be available from the Alaska Teamster training Center after February 19, 2007. Applications can be requested by phone or picked up in person at the following locations:

Minimum qualifications:
• 18 years of age
• high school diploma or GED
• current drivers license
• must pass a drug test in accordance with the USDOT
• must be physically fit
Interviews will take place April 2 & 3, 2007. 5-week training begins April 9th, 2007.
Note: Individuals selected into the apprenticeship program will be responsbile for all travel, room and board. Financial assistance may be available, please inquire.

Union Laborers Apprenticeship Program [ General ]
Union Laborers Apprenticeship Program
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, have either a high school diploma or GED, provide proof of Alaska residency for the prior 12 consecutive months, have reading and language comprehension sufficient to perform the work of the occupation, and be physically fit, without regard to any occupationally irrelevant physical handicap.
Candidates must take a test prior to the interview. The interview committee rates each applicant on factors such as interest in the trade, educational transcripts, references, previous work experience, a sense of responsibility, and a good attitude towards the program.
The testing and interviews would take place at the Locals. For those coming from out of the Anchorage and Fairbanks areas there may be financial resources available from Alaska Works Partnership, Inc.
